Get Involved
How to Make a DifferenceFrom political involvement to hands-on involvement, there are many ways you can make a difference in improving conditions for residents in Long-Term Care facilities.
Of course, we want to encourage you to consider becoming a certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman. We encourage you to participate in passing legislation that improves the quality of life for residents. As advocates ourselves, we also encourage you to support advocacy groups and initiatives that seek to protect the rights and promote the well being of residents.
Hands-on and heads upFor hands-on, grass-roots involvement: Become a LTCOP Ombudsman. You can also lend a hand at a Senior Center, the Volunteer Chore Program, Senior Rights Assistance, and by visiting your neighborhood Long-Term Care facility.
Watch for announcements and attend local events that deal with aging and disability issues. _________________________________________
